CHACRUNA

Chacruna is the psychedelic trance project of Juan Fontoira (aka Hypnoise) from Spain and Daniel Carcur (aka Ital) from Chile—two well-established artists in the global psytrance scene. The project was born in July 2015, inspired by the sacred power of plant medicine and its profound connection to nature, healing, and the divine.

Chacruna’s sound is a fusion of deep, rolling basslines, high-vibrational grooves, and psychedelic textures crafted to elevate consciousness and transform the dancefloor into a ritualistic space. Their music channels the essence of ancient wisdom through modern production, designed not just to move the body, but to awaken the spirit.

Since its inception, Chacruna has performed at top international festivals such as Shankra Festival (Switzerland) and Freedom Festival (Portugal), captivating audiences with their energetic and spiritually-charged sets. Their releases have appeared on some of the most respected labels in the scene, including Nano Records, Antu Records, Maharetta Records, and Tech Safari.

In 2018, they released their debut full-length album, “Sacred Elements,” on the renowned Maharetta Records—a powerful body of work that showcases the duo’s vision of psychedelic trance as a tool for transformation, connection, and celebration of the sacred.

Chacruna continues to carry its message across the world, uniting dancefloors through music that is both grounded in ancient roots and charged with futuristic sound design.
